Community daily in beautiful Central Florida is seeking a creative and detail-oriented page designer/copy editor to fill an open full-time position.
The successful candidate will have strong writing, copy editing, headline writing and page design skills.
Duties include writing and editing copy for daily news, feature and special section; designing pages for those sections; and proofing pages. Reporting and writing skills also are important; copy editors sometimes are asked to supplement the reporting staff.
Minimum qualifications include a four-year university or college degree in journalism or mass communications; one to two years´ experience with a daily newspaper, including responsibilities as a writer and/or page designer; and competency with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop on the PC platform.
