Location: KYMA-TV, Channel 11, Yuma Arizona
Position: Web Editor / Reporter
Shift: M – F 9:30am – 6:30pm
Typical Duties: Responsible for daily maintenance of kyma.com; daily updating, arrangement, and archiving of content; send news alert e-mails; familiarity with HTML, XML, and DHTML; Responsible for generating story ideas; write scripts using iNews; Conduct live and taped reports for newscasts; Conduct interviews; edit videotape as necessary; perform live shots; Operate various types of electronic equipment such as newsroom computer systems, editing machines, ENG trucks, and voice-tracking equipment; Carry equipment (tripod, camera, microphones, cable and power reels) and perform other tasks related to the position as assigned; Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned. Requirements: Previous news media experience in (or appreciation for) both broadcast, print and/or online journalism; must demonstrate good news judgment, be able to type and operate a computer; knowledge of AP writing style; understanding of the graphic images and design and how they work together to create a successful on-line story presentation; and have or acquire knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Ability to make extensive news contacts in the desert southwest; Maintain highest journalistic standards; Must deal with pressure situations, demonstrate good news judgment, and maintain a good attitude; On-call when assigned; Ability to carry camera/recording gear to any and all locations; Possess basic knowledge of all live trucks to assist photographers with set-up and break-down; Possess a valid driver´s license with no DUI convictions or able to obtain one within 30 days with a clean driving record; College graduate.
